After snowshoeing through fresh powder before dawn to reach Dream Lake, I arrived just in time to witness the sky turn a gentle purple and blue as the sun rose over the winter wonderland. Truly a winter dream.
A bison shakes off freshly fallen snow. The extreme cold seems not to affect the bison. They are so well insulated the snow on their back often does not even melt from body heat.
